A cake smash!
Probably just about as much fun as you can have with a portrait photography session!
Have you heard about this new craze? I guess they first popped up on my radar about a year ago but I hadn’t yet catered for one until this week, and I didn’t even realise a giant cupcake I produced would be used for one until the photographer very kindly contacted me with some absolutely fabulous images.
A smash cake is typically given to the birthday child at the first birthday celebration and is to be smashed, smeared, enjoyed and eaten by the birthday boy or birthday girl at the same as a photographer capturing the whole event – its a shame they don’t do this for adults too, how much fun would that be? Ha-Ha
Who takes the Photos?
So, check out these photographs taken by Dan Newberry Photography – isn’t he talented? I really wish I had known Dan when my son was younger as these photos create great memories and will be treasured forever. India is just such a beautiful little baby too. When I delivered the cake she was toddling around looking all pretty – she is so photogenic! Styling of India was all carried out by her Mum Gemma, and I believe the tutu was from Next, and the beads and headband from Ebay.
You’ll never fail to impress with a Cuppies n Cream giant cupcake. More than a bigger version of a cupcake – these showstoppers are ideal for birthday parties, christenings, we’ve even made them as top cakes on a tiered wedding display. The cake I made for India’s smash party was in matching pink and cream colours with a tiny little teddy bear and name blocks too.
